I am unable to see the special features from the Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1 Blu-ray’s What am I doing incorrect? How can I get it to show the special features.
You have to put the trailers and featurettes into their own folders - no mixing types: https://support.plex.tv/articles/local-files-for-tv-show-trailers-and-extras/
Adding some more pointers to the posts above…
Plex doesn’t like it if you deviate from their naming schema:
-
season folders:
STAR TREK The Next Generation Season 1 (1987-1988)should simply beSeason 01 -
episode names:
STAR TREK The Next Generation Season 1 E01 Encounter at Farpoint.mkvshould beSTAR TREK The Next Generation - s01e01 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv -
local extras: don’t combine subfolder and suffix based naming in a single file — e.g.
Featurettes > STAR TREK The Next Generation Season 1 Energized! Taking the Next Generation to the next Level-Featurette.mkvshould beFeaturettes > STAR TREK The Next Generation Season 1 Energized! Taking the Next Generation to the next Level.mkv… in a subfolder you could make that name even neater by further shortening it toFeaturettes > Energized! Taking the Next Generation to the next Level.mkv
I am using the AppleTV app and do not see the Special Features showing up. The screenshot posted shows Apple TV with dots at the Show and Episode columns. So where should I place the items (and with what naming conventions)?
There are some Special Features which are the "Next Time On… " trailers; the Season Preview; Series Launch Trailers; and then Featurettes and Behind the Scenes items.
Also - For the Episode Names, do I need to put the Entire Show Name or can I abbreviate it?
For Example Instead of Star Trek The Next Generation, could I just use ST TNG?
If you want to avoid issues, follow Plex’s naming schema exactly
