Trying to get extras working my Star Trek Deep Space 9.
I think I followed the instructions correctly, but I’m obviously doing something wrong.
I put it in the root folder names Featurettes with all the other Seasons along side them. Then I added a suffix to the files like “-featurette” which I think is what the directions are asking for, but it’s still not showing up.
You only need one naming schema – applying both can cause some hiccups:
option 1: add show level extras into a subfolder named Featurettes of your show’s folder
option 2: add show level extras into the show’s folder and add a suffix -featurette to their file name
After adding your files, refresh the show’s metadata.
Make sure you’re using the Plex TV Series agent for your library as only that will pick up your local extras for tv shows.
Side note:
While all tv-show tiers support local extras (shows, seasons, episodes), not all apps will be able to display extras on all tiers (all apps support extras on the show tiers; only the mobile apps support extras on all tiers).
open the library’s context menu (e.g. hover over the library in the sidebar / main navigation and click the stacked 3 dots icon)
select Manage Library > Edit…
go to the Advanced tab
the Agent option should be set to Plex TV Series
if the Agent is set to a different to a different value, change it to Plex TV Series
after preparing your library and the extras, refresh the library’s metadata (don’t scan the library files)
open the library’s context menu as described above
select Manage Library > Refresh Library Metadata
confirm you want to refresh the metadata of the entire library (this might take a moment)
If you’ve only added local extras for a single or a few shows, you can also trigger the metadata refresh from the context menu of those individual shows.
