TV show won't stay in a library

Hi,

I have set up two libraries for TV shows; one is shared with a subset of shows while the other is not shared but contains all shows. After building this out, I noticed one of my shows was not listed in either library. I moved the folder out of my TV structure and let Plex sense and auto-update the libraries. Once that was completed, I re-added the show into the shared folder structure.

Plex initially found the newly added show and added it, but then deleted it automatically. This happens in both libraries. In the meantime, another show goes out and downloads metadata even though there were no changes to that show’s folder whatsoever.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Is it possible this is a corrupt db?

I would appreciate any help people could provide.

Thanks

__Sure, the folder structure looks like this:

TV
–TV for Dad
---- Show Title
------ Season
-------- Show Title - sXXeXX.mp4
– My TV
---- Show Title
------ Season
-------- Show Title - sXXeXX.mp4

The libraries are TV for Dad (only uses that folder) and All TV (which includes both TV for Dad and My TV).

I’m trying to add “The Six Million Dollar Man”. The show that it keeps scanning when I either move the folder for “Six Million Dollar Man” into or out of the file structure above is “The Bionic Woman”.

I’ve also included a screen shot of the file structure in this general area, if that helps.

A couple of other things about this:

  • I’m running PMS 1.3.3.3148 on a Synology DS916+ with the 5 bay expansion added
  • This was working fine until I tried to re-do my file structure to make things easier on my 76 year old father. I only had one folder for all TV shows rather than split them between ‘TV for Dad’ and ‘My TV’, but the rest of the file structure was the same.

So, I did as you suggested but had no change. Since I’ve had a couple of other issues (videos stuttering, messages about my network not being fast enough to stream the content over the local network, etc.) I decided to rebuild my db from scratch. I stopped Plex, deleted all contents of $PLEX_HOME/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ and restarted Plex. After rebuilding the TV libraries, The Six Million Dollar Man still does not show up. My next thought is that the files are corrupted somehow so I’m going to try running them through a converter app (even though they are in the correct format as is) to create new versions of the files. Once that is done, I’ll remove the existing folder for the show and re-add the converted folder.

I’ll let you know how that goes.

Your “All TV” library. Does it point to the main “TV” folder or does it point to the 2 sub-folders individually?

It points to the 2 sub-folders individually. I did get this working yesterday. I had to reconvert the episodes. While doing so, I noticed a couple of them had improper tags, so I think that was a big part of it.

Regardless, this is now resolved. Thank you for your assistance.
