TV Shows "Mark as Watched Through Here"

Sometimes, I watch episodes in Plex, and sometimes I’ll watch them in another streaming service , or no someone else’s account. When I come back to Plex, I have to mark the seasons/episodes that I watched individually. It would be nice to have an option (either in the individual episode’s menu, or a setting) that would mark that episode and everything before it as watched, saving me a LOT of manual flagging. I don’t see a reason for this not to be the default, but that’s definitely not necessary.

You can select several items in the web app and then flag them as “watched” together. Be it episodes, seasons, or whole shows.

The nearest you will get with that in a (slightly more) automated way is by setting up a Trakt account and installing the Plex-Trakt-Scrobbler.

Watch something at your mate’s house…mark it as watched in Trakt on your mobile.
By the time you get home, it will be marked as watched in your own library.
In a similar vein, watch a movie at the cinema, mark it as watched (and rate it if you choose).
If you ever add that movie to your Plex library in the future it will (at least by default) be marked as watched and rated accordingly.

I guess I should have clarified what apps I was watching things through. Disney+, HBO Max, and Hulu are the other apps that my BF decides to use sometimes because “we’re already paying for them”. Trakt didn’t seem to support those.

Yeah, it wasn’t intended as a solution but more of a workaround.
Trakt does have a mobile app, so it’s pretty easy to mark something as watched if you viewed it outside of Plex (which will then be automatically picked up in Plex as viewed).

Beyond that and @OttoKerner suggestion there is little that can be done sadly.
That said despite the fact that the web browser allows you to select multiple items and mark them as watched, I personally find it easier to mark them as watched via Plex on my mobile. This is assuming that it’s just a couple of episodes of a handful of shows.
