TV Tuner & TV Guide support!

Guys,

 

I love plex, its great, but it sucks that i have to use media center to record TV.  And cant do this with my Android Tablet!

 

Would it be possible to add TV tuner support to Plex, so I can browse the TV guide on my Android Tablet, tap on the shows i want and manage my recordings through my Android.. Then plex records and lets me play them back?  You could match TV shows and Movies data from the EPG the same way to make a very rich experiance.

 

If this was possible I could setup a headless linux box then running plex with my 4x TV tuners in it, and just drive it all through my tablet.

 

This would be so awsome!

I'd love this feature as well. 

It would also be really cool if it coudl also work like MediaPortal so with on tuner it can record all the tv channels on the same mux as well.

For what it’s worth, the boys over at Emby have incorporated Live Tv right into their Emby Server so all you need to do is detect the tuners on the network. There is no need for a plugin to connect to WMC. They have a slick looking guide too that works with a SchedulesDirect subscription using JSON. It would be a really competitive move for you guys to try to emulate that since the foundation of your server is so stable. If this is already in the works, then please update us. This would be a big decision maker of whether to continue to subscribe to Plex monthly, or cancel it and go with Emby. I’m already a lifetime member of Emby, but the stability is a little bit lacking.
