Tuner card reads as AverMedia H788 PCIe ATSC in Device Manager
Plex detects it as AverMedia 716x BDA ATSC Tuner
I’ve uninstalled the AverMedia software and rebooted, still can’t get Plex to get any channels when it scans.
As a wierd aside, i cannot select “Cable” from the first dropdown, and since it’s connected to Wide Open West cable which has a funky channel lineup thing (all channels are 1000.foo) i think it’s not even trying to scan them.
ATSC is an Over The Air transmission standard, i.e. Antenna. Most cable companies use different transmission methods. You might have better luck with an HDHR Prime and a cable card from WOW but no guarantees.
What do your logs show? What browser are you using when trying to configure?
Also, this device does not appear to be listed in the Plex Supported DVR Tuners list. The one AverMedia supported tuner appears to be a USB tuner. You might also check out the Plex Community Supported Page since this device is not a supported tuner. There might be some information there of use in configuring the device on your computer.
using chrome to try and configure, latest version.
I know it’s not on the supported list… i’m trying to do the work to get it onto the community list in case someone else is as cheap as i am one day and doesn’t want to get a new tuner.

but its plugged into a cable line, with basic ClearQAM cable signal… i know the tuner can read ClearQAM because averMediaCenter works… something somewhere is preventing that ‘cable’ selection from showing up on that channel screen… is that a registry key that’s missing maybe?
