TvplexendChannel.bundle - A Tvheadend Channel Plugin for PLEX Media Server

Hi Patrick,

With the latest git pull I now have channels displayed correctly. Thanks for the fix.

However, I still have issues ....

1. On the web client SD channel content plays fast, the pauses, plays fast and repeats .... HD channels don't play at all.

2. On Android client, nothing plays .. "Can't play this Video"

3. On PHT all, channels refuse to load ..

Hi,

Have use this plug in before worked great , Have updated tvheadend, now does not work.

Yep, I can confirm what helio58 is seeing, it does not work with the latest tvheadend.

The other plugin tvheadend-ng works though, so must be a problem with this plugin ...

Cheers,

Hi,

I've just tested the plugin with the latest version from git (4.1-166~g4d72204) and at least for me it works.

Can you PM me some system/plugin logs?

The file at.gaubatz.patrick.tvplexend.channel.log will most likely be the be most interesting one...

Cheers,

Patrick

You better be more specific where the logs are..

I see nothing under /var/lib/plex/Plex\ Media\ Server/Plug-ins/TvplexendChannel.bundle/

and no idea where "system/plugin" is ..... and there is nothing under /var/log

 .....you are referring to a linux box right?

PS: I am running Archlinux with systemd .. so my place may be different than your ..

Hi,

you may find the plugin logs using the following command:

locate -b '\at.gaubatz.patrick.tvplexend.channel.log'

On my system (Debian) the plugin logs are in:

/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs/PMS Plugin Logs/at.gaubatz.patrick.tvplexend.channel.log

The system logs might be stored in:

/var/log/messages

hi patrick thanks for the channel development i just posted a feature request in git hub which i hope you can work your magic on.

to include it in this conversation too, its to create an EPG which you can scroll through and also have the ability for recording upcoming shows. Having a recording function also built to have adhoc recording sessions started would be great too.

Hi Patrick just another update, recently PMS has been updated and now channels on IOS does not work connecting to tvheadend (it just mentions that it is due to networking errors). Thanks In addition i cant connect to it through plex client either now that the server is updated. not sure if the update has broken it but seems to have.

Hi is there anyway to disable transcoding. The TV can play the streams directly, but its getting transcoded for some reason and my server can’t keep up. I have tried direct play and direct stream options which don’t seem to make any difference. I have also tried renaming the transcoder files on the pled server, but the streams don’t play, I get content can’t be reached error.

hi guys I’m really struggling with getting this plugin to work. I have installed the channel within plex I’m struggling with the settings bit if anybody could help me? I don’t know what to put in the URL section http://localhost:9981/ doesn’t work!

Possible add check/uncheck channel in list ?

Dosent work for me too…

I have attached the log :slight_smile:
Cheers

Hi
I’m running Plex Versión 2.4.38, with Tvplexend channel shared, tvheadend clients for
KODI (pc), Kodi in Raspberry (openelec) working as a sharm in local (LAN) and remote (WAN) mode

But, I have another raspberry with Rasplex and the addon (Tvplexend channel) work’s ok in my LAN
and fail on the WAN.

Do you have some hints about this failure ?
I will appreciate any.

Regards
Manuel

Hi

i have a similar issue , yesterday i did all the config and managed to get it working, but then after severall hours it stopped working

Basically i am using TVheadend lastest 4xx version

Plex Media serve linux 0.9.xxx

basically when i try to edit the config of tvheadend via webif it gives me error setting the config

so i need to go on the plextvend folder to the DefaultPrefs.json

and add the following login details for the TVhead

{
“id”: “http://1xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9981/”,
“label”: “URL (required)”,
“type”: “text”,
“default”: “”
},
{
“id”: “myuserhere”,
“label”: “Username”,
“type”: “text”,
“default”: “”
},
{
“id”: “mypasshere”,
“label”: “Password”,
“type”: “text”,
“option”: “”,
“default”: “”
},
{
“id”: “displayChannelsNumbers”,
“label”: “Display channel numbers”,
“type”: “bool”,
“default”: “true”
},
{
“id”: “displayChannelIcons”,
“label”: “Display channel icons”,
“type”: “bool”,
“default”: “true”
}

then i save it and restart plexmediaserver, when i try to edit config via web tvheadend gui in plex it shows the data already input and i can save it on the save button

it worked for a few hours, but now it keeps telling me all the time Channel is not responding…

so i checked the logs of the tvplexend and it gives me the following information

and now its giving me the following message

Aldo i can stream from another pc directly in TVheadend using VLC with user+pass login credentials requested on VLC

fine!
your code is better than tvheadend-ng more clear atless for me.

but have the same problem as tvheadend-ng for every client plex create a transcoding, it’s mean that if i ahve 4 users seeing de same channel my cpu is burning…
i want the same but that all the four users viewing the same channel use the same transcoding, it will be posible use transcoding feature of tvheadend and on plex only change the container mpegts to hls for example using same video codec and audio it will be fine :stuck_out_tongue: or atless same video codec.
audio transcoding it isn’t so wasteful for cpu.

Thank you for your job!

I’m not a python developer but i’m good programer with java and I know a little bit about video transcoding :stuck_out_tongue:

[EDIT]
All good now, I decided to read the manual :slight_smile:
Added the codec licenses & now it’s all good!
Great plugin btw!

Hi,
This doesn’t work for me on RasPlex – I get audio only, no video.

I have confirmed it works on other clients including a debian Plex Home Theater, so I don’t think it’s the Plex server or the TVHeadend.

Any thoughts?

does someone know if is it possible to compile PMS for OpenElec linux distribuiction?

Is there any way we can disable the transcoding for live channels? SD channels are fine, but it cannot keep up with the HD channels, and there is a lot of stuttering.
Thanks!

Hey,
Streaming does not work on the new version 1.0.0.2261.
