Tweak request: Pause doesn't show the OSD

I recently came from Plexbmc, and one nifty thing I miss from it was that you could choose that pause would not bring up the OSD. Instead it would just pause the movie with the pause symbol on the screen.

Why does it matter? Because it can be annoying to see how much there is left of the movie. It could in some ways “spoil” the movie.

A simple tweak, yet effective in keeping the tension in the movie intact through pauses.

I hope it can be considered. Currently the pause command has no purpose since the “bring up OSD” button automatically pauses as well, making the commands identical.

I completely agree with you, I always find it rather annoying to realize that a movie is almost over when I pause it to get something, even though I thought it was ages left.

This is a feature I’d love as well, simple but so effective.

Original PHT used to auto-hide the OSD after a period of time. I would love for your idea and the original PHTs way of doing things to become options.
(the auto-hide was useful for pausing and then reading large blocks of subtitles/text on screen/signs/etc)
