I’m using Plex Pass to record OTA shows with HDHomeRun on a Late 2012 Mac mini with an i7 processor which has Quick Sync. I’ve had that working great for years, but now I would like to use the transcode-while-recording feature to convert the MPEG-2 recordings to H.264 without using up all my processor power. Is there is any way to tweak the settings used for that transcode to force Quick Sync or change any other parameters that would make it work better on my dated system?
I generally don’t transcode anything because it’s an old machine and I only watch locally on an Apple TV or 14" M1 MBP and both of them play everything I want, natively. I just want to save space since MPEG-2 is gigantic. Thanks in advance!
