Currently there are a handful of unmatched albums in my collection and while most of them don’t have MusicBrainz entries yet two of them definitely do. “Fix Match” will bring up the proper match but choosing that does not appear to do anything; the processing circle doesn’t flash and the entry doesn’t update to matched (and disappear from the “Unmatched” filter).
The two albums in question are the BBNG II album and the Yourboyfriendsucks 02 album in this screenshot:
I have even tried deleting them from the file system entirely (hence the recent add dates) and re-adding them but Plex puts them in the same limbo. Here is a screenshot of the Fix Match option for the YBS album showing it has a corresponding MusicBrainz entry:
I was poking around the library db and in the metadata_items table I noticed that these two albums are being given “mbid” entries in the guid field which is different from the truly unmatched albums which get “local” entries and the matched albums which get “plex” entries. Given the persistence of the matching issue even after deleting and re-adding, I would guess that something about these MusicBrainz IDs in particular is causing Plex to hiccup and not assign it a local metadata folder?
