Server Version#: 4.54.5
Player Version#: Apple TV / Roku / Not applicable
I have two Western Digital PR4100s. They are identical in every setting that I can make. They are both hosting identical installs of Plex and all the same media. The only differences are the IP address and server names. This is the best I can do to create a redundant backup of my media.
I primarily use just one server, ironically named Primary. But whenever I add media, I add the same media to both.
I’ve noticed on several occasions where the media is not recognized the same between the two servers.
For instance, I just ripped the blu-rays of the orignal BBC series Planet Earth. I then updated the metadata on the 11 episodes, and then copied the series to the two WD servers.
The primary server identified the series and offered up 22 options for the cover art. The secondary server identified the series but only offered up 4 options for cover art, and not the one I selected on the primary server which is the one I want to use. I used both the Fix Match and Refresh Metadata options on the secondary server but I am still only offered the 4 cover arts. All the other metadata that I can see is the same.
So why would one server have more options in metadata than the other?
Can I extract the cover art from one server and copy it to the other?
Is there some blaringly obvious “thing” I’m missing here?
Thanks in advance for your help.
