Player Version#:Version 1.108.1.307-dd5b87aa
I would appreciate some advice from the community..
I have two Plex Servers installed on separate Win 11 23H2 machines. Both are on the same network and subnet with static IP addresses (SERVER-1 is 192.168.1.54 and SERVER-2 is 192.168.1.55).
In the past I have had both running simultaneously and had both visible in the ‘More’ section of the Plex Client Home column (using either any Windows PC on the same network or a Shield Client) . Since moving house and setting everything up again, I am finding that while I can still access both Servers individually, it is ONLY the last one to be started which shows up at any given time.
I have experinmented with various Remote Access settings but with no impact on the situation.
Is one server a clone of the other? meaning do they share the same registry settings. Settings in registry determine it’s identity and if they have the same when one launches afterwards when the info for the second launch gets to plex.tv it will think it is the same server with a different IP. Like if you just gave one server a new local IP.
Thank you for the swift reply
I don’t think that is the case - one machine has been ressurected from being in storage for many months and the other was a clean build (both OS and the Plex Server).
Hmmm… I have been delving in that area but not found a resolution so far.
The external IP address is the same for both servers (as expected). The ports are currently set to 18064 (S-1) and 18065 (S-2). These are the automatic Plex induced settings with the checkboxes for ‘Use Manual’ unchecked on both servers.
I have also tried manually setting; first with the default of 32400 on one and 34001 on the other. I then read another internet discussion which said that you can’t have either set to the default. Therefore changed to 32401 and 32402. However that configuration also does not enable both servers to be visible simultaneously !
PS. I am also contemplating the option of completely uninstalling Plex Server on the second machine and doing a subsequent clean install to see if that will remove whatever may be causing the issue. But would prefer to avoid if there is a simpler option !
