But the latest 1.16.1 is the only thing compatible with DVR as of today.
Does this mean DVR is a beta-only feature now?
@flow, please check your facts…
I just checked… 1.16.1.1291 is definitely a PUBLIC release, not BETA/PlexPass.
This is only me guessing,
(I think) things might all be a little bit out of whack as I think plex using Gracenote has stopped as of today.
The announcements thread does not list 1.16.1.1291 as public, but if you download the latest from the downloads page with Plex Pass downloads off it does indeed download 1.16.1.1291
So I think you may just need to wait for the dust to settle on the transition from Gracenote
I got my information from the downloads page on the main website, which any normal person would accept to be the master/one truth. This coupled with the fact that my PMS is set to “Public Channel” for updates; I’m not expecting to be notified about anything but public releases.
I dont read the announcements forum, in fact I dont read these forums unless I have a problem (which is hardly ever).
So the current situation is that everything is out of sync and nothing is the one truth.
Downloads page / Announcement Thread / Repos all give different information.
I guess the repo just needs to be updated by Plex. So wait or download and install manually.
Was hit with the same issue : notification about the 1.16.1.1291, which is a beta version. I’m not sure to understand why the repos can’t be kept in sync in a timely manner. Seems to be a recurrent area of concerns for a lot of us
Apparently they still haven’t figured out how to manage repo automatically, so someone have to update it manually every time. Welcome to the 21st century, neural networks and stuff
Updating PMS manually is a piece of cake though. Download the .deb package and do sudo apt install <package.deb>
If, as a DEV house or business, you provide a service then provide the service. If you provide a shoddy, unfit for purpose service then your customers will (quite rightly) firstly ask questions and then become more vocal and finally, actively complain about said service. This is because your customer base will build upon the service you committed to supply. If that has failures and downtime then your customers have downtime also and this isn’t good.
If you cant commit to provide the service well, then you’re better off not providing it at all than giving a half-attempt at it and resulting in an unhappy customer base.
12 Days later and 1.16.2.1297 is now officially (as in all sources agree) available to everyone.
However, still not available in the repos.
Version 1.16.2.1297 is not available my Plex server telling me, but nothing available in the repos.
