Ubuntu desktop or server

Hi All,

I am setting up new machine for my Plex; should I go with ubuntu desktop or server? online says both have same kernel and no difference except UI. I may be wrong as I never used one before.

Depends on what you want to do with the server (e.g. beyond running Plex) and how comfortable you are with managing your server through a shell/terminal.
The „Server“ version does not just have a different user interface, it has no graphical user interface.

Less overhead, more command line action :wink:

I am not used to shell/terminal commands. just basic on for my day to day use.

I will go with desktop and try to do everything via shell/terminal to learn.
