On my computer I have the J4105 processor with the UHD 600 and Ubuntu 22.04. It turns out that with version 1.29.0… with beignet the hardware tone mapping was perfect. But now with the new version (1.29.1, 1.29.2…) it doesn’t work.
I have investigated the matter and it turns out that it is due to the version of the kernel that I have (currently 6.0 and before 5.19). As of 5.19 the GPU hangs and gives the following errors:
20:08 i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] GPU HANG: echo 9:1:8ed2fff2, in Plex Transcoder [3276] kernel
20:08 i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Plex Transcoder[3276] context reset due to GPU hang kernel
20:08 i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Resetting rcs0 for preemption time out kernel
When I boot the system with a lower kernel version (5.15) and pms 1.29.2.6273, the hardware decoding works perfectly and there is no trace of errors.
if you’re running less then 5.19.13 in the 5.19 series, there is a bug in an intel driver for LCD’s that will damage hardware. I don’t know what else it effects.
