Unable to cast (only) Live TV to Chromecast

I don’t understand it but I cannot cast live TV to any TV no matter what network I’m in. It works fine on my Chromecast with Android TV, Apple TV, or Roku, but as soon as I try and cast from any device or any network it fails.

I always get Error 5 in the logs

I am also having this issue. I thought it was related to the iOS 15 update as I believe it worked prior to that. But maybe it is unrelated.

Everything else seems to work except casting live tv to Chromecast

Server: running on macOS Catalina
Client: iOS casting to Google Chromecast
Tuner: HDHomerun

Seems similar although looks like we might have different errors. I’m sure it’s all related to the same core issue tho. I’ve never been able to Chromecast live TV.

This functionality was previously working until a recent update. Seems to be a constant struggle point for the developer team.

Same here. It used to work - then recent Plex update borked it. Unable to cast LiveTV from Windows Chrome Web, iOS, Android App, Android Chrome Web, due to compatibility error.

Just in time for football season.

Kinda glad I’m not the only one having issues, just got a TV Tuner and was really gutted when casting from any device (Android, iOS or Chrome on Windows) didn’t work.

Are you all still having this issue? Will be great when this gets fixed!

Are we expecting to be able to cast from Android anytime soon?

I too am having this issue. Extremely frustrating.

So, reverted to previous version of PMS 1.24.1.4931 on a whim and LiveTV to Chromecast is again working. I didn’t try all versions from current but just picked and got lucky.

Specifically, I run PMS on FreeNAS (FreeBSD).

Not aware of any other issues with this version yet - hope this helps.
