Yesterday I became unable to cast media in Plex to any of my Google Chromecast devices. I am unable to cast using Plex on both the Chrome web browser and Android app.
Casting works fine in other apps.
I have rebooted the router, restarted the Mac, restarted Plex, restarted my phone, reinstalled the Plex Android app and restarted each Google Chromecast device but this has not made any difference.
I am having the same issue. My Roku TV and web UI can’t see any players, the Windows Plex app only can see the web UI and my Android phone can see all of them. It’s been like this for a week or two. I keep up with software updates so it seems like the latest Plex versions have this issue.
The difference here is that my players are showing up and when I select to cast to any of them, the device I am casting to makes the usual beep sound, the cast icon in the Plex app goes orange very briefly before turning white again.
I have had the same issue with a Chromecast Audio device - stopped working just under a week ago.
May be down to a new version of Chrome - 76.0.3809.132, which I think was rolled out last week.

Mine just started acting up today, cannot cast from Android mobile to Google Home audio device. Always had issues where I’d have to disconnect / reconnect often in order to get it to work. Now it just doesn’t work, track appears to progress but no sound. If I adjust volume I can hear the volume tones, but no music.
Casting works fine from other apps, so it’s definitely Plex. Have been getting very disappointed in Plex lately, likely going to be ditching my Plex Pass and just use the free Google Music. It’s not very user friendly, but it’s free and it works, so that’s a plus.
Go ahead and put me down as having the same issue. Unable to cast to Google Home or Chromecast Audio from either the Android app or the web client. I can cast from other apps without error. Both PMS and Android app are on the latest versions.
Similar results here as well, unable to cast to Chromecast Audio starting this morning. Running the latest versions AFAIK. Tried from iOS, Android and Plex web, same results on all. Casting from VLC to the Chromcast Audio works.
