Unable to disable Discovery when logged in directly,

Server Version#: 1.28.0.5999
Player Version#: 4.87.2

The other day my plex server updated. Since then, I can no longer disable discovery on my account when logged into it directly. For instance, when I search for content, it always shows the “More Ways to Watch” section.

If I go to app.plex.tv, then go to Settings > Online Media Sources, I can then go to the “Discover” section and disable everything there without any issues. However, If instead of going to app.plex.tv, I go to my server directly 192.168.***.***, then the “Discover” section is nowhere to be found…

The feature you’re looking for is not yet included in the bundled version of Plex Web that’s installed on your server.

  • hosted version (as of today): 4.87.2
  • bundled version (since PMS 1.25.9.5673): 4.76.1

The option to hide/disable discovery / where to watch from the search settings was added with Plex Web 4.85.1.

Side note: most of the time there’s no need to use the bundled version of Plex Web except when setting up your server…
