How long have you had Plex?
don’t you remember this?
the function was good even though it didn’t work perfectly
I’m still waiting for the reasons why it was removed …

The reason was provided a week ago, scroll up. Unable to display long playlists, Recently Added, or Artists in Android Auto - #171 by jesusmc

but are you automatic responders ??
you linked something that has nothing to do with the song paused and also denied by other apps

are you serious ??
but

I’ll admit I didn’t watch your video. This thread is about why the “Artists” and “Albums” list are no longer available. I thought your video was referring to that. If you are having another issue, please start a new thread so it doesn’t get mixed up with this one.
I don’t think you told him it’s off topic
Someone better tell Cloud Player…because they had no oroble. Figuring it out. You get a short list…until you stop the vehicle at which point you can see the entire list.
Track/Song Lists do not show up AT ALL Anymore. Latest Plex update on new factory AA infotainment - used to show song lists, now (as of several months ago) you click on an album or a playlist, and it just starts playing the first track - no listing of songs in the list.
This is horribly annoying and frustrating
not 100% sure this is a problem with Android Auto not being able to resume play. I say that because i use the SiriusXM app on my phone with my Android-Auto head unit (2019 Silverado) and if I unplug and walk in somewhere, come back startup and plug-in…my SiriusXM app picks right up automatically and starts playing where I left off since it caches the audio stream.
the layout has certainly changed.
When you find the album you are interested in (if you can
)
the first track starts automatically but if you click

should give you the tracklist
I correct
tested on the phone today:
the icon existed but disappeared
the image of the album does not appear but a generic one of the artist
obviously the paused song is not resumed …
Comically enough, the guys working on PlexAmp sure found away around AA “limitations”.
Huh? What do you mean? What does PlexAmp have to do with Android Auto?
Edit - Nevermind. I don’t use AA that often and hadn’t noticed that PlexAmp is now available.
The limitation is still there. PlexAmp is trying to avoid it by using A-Z list. However, if the resulting list is still long, you will run into the same issue.
I know, but that’s what we were requesting and being told that can’t happen. Being able to use voice controls with Plex would stop the long list similar to how other apps do. On a side note, tell whoever is working on the PlexAmp and PlexDash app, that they are knocking it out of the park as far as UI goes. It just runs sooo much smoother than basic Plex and looks so much nicer. Whatever they changed in the coding needs to be moved over to the real Plex app. Kudos for whoever worked on these two.
I think this thread can be closed … personally I have eliminated Plex from the players available in AA …

I have to say, PlexAmp is a better solution for music. And now, with the added advantage of being fully functional in AA, it’s PlexAmp for the win!
