Unable to Update

I’m a bit of a linux newbie but I’ve got my PMS all set up. I previously ran PMS on a WD MYcloud and before that a PC.

Everything is working fine; however, I find myself unable to update PMS. I enabled repository updating, ran the update/upgrade commands and nothing happens. I see plex come up when I run the SUDO update command. I also tried a manual update and Kept getting an error message saying the downloaded file wasn’t found.

Thanks in advance.

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523
Player Version#:

How did you install Plex Media Server initially?

Based on the version number, I think you may have installed the Snap version; that’s just a guess, but 1.22.3.4523 is the current version available as a Snap. You can check to see if that’s the case by running snap list | grep plexmediaserver from in a terminal.

Repository updating isn’t applicable with the Snap; that only works if you installed Plex using the instructions here. The Snap version seems to lag a bit in updates (at least recently).

If you are using the Snap version and want to be able to use the latest version, either public or beta, you’ll need to uninstall it and install the native package using the instructions above. This would mean starting over, unless you migrate your Plex data. There aren’t Snap-specific instructions, but the same general process applies.

Thank you. Going to give this a try
