I have been using Plex for several years with no issue. I don’t know if it was a Plex update or Windows 11 update or even something else. But I can NOT play my movies.
Temporaraly I had to make a new Movies1 library and set the scanner Plex Movie Scanner, Agent : Plex Movie (Legacy). If I try to change scanner to Plex Movie Scanner and Agent : Plex Movie it won’t let me save gives an error Your changes could not be saved.
If I use scanner: Plex Movie and Agent: Plex Movie
I can save and it scans the movies but when try to play them I just get a spinning circle.
I can leave it at scanner to Plex Movie Scanner, Agent Plex Movie (Legacy) but I keep getting red notices Library update required. But then if I do that I get same issue the movies won’t play. They don’t play on my Windows 11 through Edge or through Roku.
Can’t figure it out did try searching for movies not playing in plex one result said to stop plex delete the codecs folder, then restart, which I did and that did not help. The thing that confuses me is they play if using scanner : Plex Movie Scanner but not scanner : Plex Movie. And it won’t let me save if I chose Plex Movie Scanner with Agent: Plex Movie.
I see no noticable errors in logs. so stumped.
