Please return this to the way I have enjoyed using for the last 11 years as this complete reversal on the user experience is very jarring. At the very least make the corner triangles an option.

Yet again, proof that we are in no danger of plex becoming a better product for us paying customers. Give us the dorito back.
Seriously trying to understand how removing that part of the UI helps plex,inc’s corporate goal of becoming a social media company and I’m coming up with nothing. Happy to be convinced otherwise.

the only thing that makes sense is they want to pivot more into a streaming service [that also happens to do your local media]. If this is the case they are never bringing the Dorito back, they are forcing us to comply to their new business model.

I don’t understand why anyone would prefer watched over unwatched indicators… at some point you watch the most of your movies and it bloats the ui with checkmarks that you wouldn’t need to see if it would only highlight the unwatched ones … frustrating to see that they put effort in developing this instead of fixing some real issues like downloads in the ios app …

As a developer myself, I just don’t understand why in the world the decision makers are acting the way that they are acting, or not acting. This is not a difficult task. To display the orange triangle, as it was before, should be a quick, straight forward, easy task that could be implemented quickly.
Why not give the users what they want? As far as I know, there was never anyone complaining about not being able to see a watched checkmark. Now users are upset about not being able to see the unwatched orange triangle in the corner and they are obviously refusing to put the unwatched orange triangle back in. If they were willing to put the unwatched orange triangle back in, they would have given us that option instead of this ridiculous option to just not show watched icons.
The user’s voice is not going to go away! We want the unwatched orange triangle back! PLEASE!

I’m just going add my request for the orange triangle showing unwatched shows to come back please. NOT BLACK, but ORANGE. Or make this a user adjustable feature if you’re concerned not everyone wants it.

The option to disable Watched Indicators for Personal Media is missing from Plex client on my Shield Pro.

If you goto https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account and scroll down to the Watched Indicators for Personal Media section you can set this to none which will give you a clean look with no indicators on the posters.
However, that is not the goal of this feature request as many of us want an indicator back for unwatched content, like we had before plex forced these watched indicators on us.
