hey there… you may consider this a duplicate, however, after looking through the forum for this topic, i see posts from 2015, 2017…etc… with NO update or new discussions in years, sooo… maybe you can allow this post as a refresher topic.
look, we NEED sub categories for movies… it’s just that simple. it’s time - PLEASE
Think of the Horror genre alone… i have over 600 horror movies in this one category that are so different from one another.
You can old the down button instead of clicking for every one. You would also still need to click though many sub category/collection poster or whatever to get to it depending on how many you have.
To be clear I have no personal feelings about this one way or the other, just answering the question if there are any current plans for it.
I am also aware that when 31 clicks for Westerns was being developed - not one person involved thought: “hey.. wait a minute… something’s not quite right here”.
NOT ONE.
I’m just saying - the User/Developer interface is basically non-existent - and if someone drawing a paycheck doesn’t help out - it ain’t gonna get any better.
It’s not your fault - unless you’re not talking to the right people - then it is. If we have a voice - you’re it - and complete and utter mis-fires shouldn’t take a Feature Request to draw someone’s attention to it.
I’m not unreasonable, but there should be a way for Users to do something in this area that doesn’t involve this:
… even though that’s not bad if we had some ‘Features’ in the Collection of 300+ Westerns (I can open with 1 Click - not 31) - like a Letter Stack, or mini-library features - or something.

i can’t say i’m entirely sure on how you do things on this forum, however, i am hoping to get as much as discussion on this topic as possible soi do feel that placing this post in a place where not many other people will visit and peruse will help to mute the topic.
i DO find it rather ironic how ORGANIZED your forum and threads and sub threads are - but not the actual server
I’m moving this to feaure suggestion category. If you want it then vote for it. I closed the other two since they were super old and had no votes anyway. Not sure if there is another.
I find the server very organized as do plenty of others. Not every thing is ever going to suit every user. Some folks don’t like this forum some do, some are indifferent. There are some server feature folks things are great and i think are horrible and actively ruin my day every time i see them but many folks wanted them so they were implemented. And if many folks want them I will advocate for them regardless of my feeling about it. What I won’t do is pretend someones opinion is a fact.
you OBVIOUSLY get what i am trying to do here… see how you want to put THIS very topic in a SUB CATEGORY… SAME thing.
the regular visitor to this site will not go fishing around for these topics… by tossing this into some random category, it will get barely any notice… which is why, i can imagine, the other two posts never got any votes.
I’m sorry that not as many people, as you think there are, seem to care about this enough to even comment on it that you seem to believe there are. (Or they care about other things more.)

and not sure how you can say not others care when within the first half hour someone was already saying the same thing… PROBABLY because he actually was able to SEE the topic…
you need to understand that regular people, not programmers or people who are used to seeing your forum day in and day out - come to your forum - see “general” and just peruse the chatter… i would imagine you already know that because i’m sure most (80%??) of all your comments from those sections.
… what regular, non forum savvy person is going to look to VOTE on anything??

you can probably check my history with this forum - been here since around 2013(?) 2014 (?)… i don’t think i’ve EVER looked in this area at all.
I really have no skin in the game if this feature request get implemented or not. I suggest you try to have conversations with people about the benefits you see in the feature request instead of informing them you are right and they are wrong about wanting something or not.
When ur drilling for Westerns and you get to about click 20 and pass out… when you wake up there is a work-around above.
Clearly, 31 Clicks to Westerns was a Plex Development Team Decision - is working exactly as designed - and there’s not a thing wrong with it - or anything we can do about it. <— it beats the 47 clicks to get to the place where you see if your FireTV is in Direct Play or Transcoding - and that’s way better than the “1” it used to be.
Plex is, apparently, built on Clicks. The more you click - the better Plex is.
I’m already wasting 4 of my 5 votes in other Requests and am saving the last one to vote on World Peace when it shows up.
