updating email in profile

Can anyone tell me why I can’t get my email updated on my user profile page? I don’t know how many times I have tried, with no joy. The current email used on my profile is not in use anymore so it is important to get it changed.

Check your SPAM folder. There will be a confirmation email before switching the address.
