Upgrade Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04

Hi
I am thinking of upgrading Ubuntu from 16.04 to 18.04.
but I am not sure if there are many benefits, I do use the machine as my Desktop also.
Are there any gotchas or will Plex PMS just keep running?
Any reason not to upgrade?

Stop and Disable PMS until after you’re done.
Any major upgrade changes all the core runtime libraries PMS relies on (glibc, sockets, etc)
Once upgraded and all updates applied, then enable and start PMS
