I would like to upgrade my actual NAS (ds215j) to 218play or 218+.
The main reason for this choice is that using plex from my ipad o iphone (sometimes also from my chromecast / Amazon key) get stucked saying “the server is not powerful enough to convert video”.
Obviously if there is a solution, I will be glad to ear it. 
What do you suggest? Actually I use the NAS just to store personal file and to use PLEX.

Actually the 218 PLAY is a quad core- just slower than the 718- Quad Core 1.4 GHz vs Quad Core 1.5 burst up to 2.3 GHz
What is interesting is that the specs for the 218PLAY say:
10-bit H.265 (HEVC), MPEG-4 Part 2, MPEG-2, VC-1; maximum resolution: 4K (4096 x 2160); maximum frame rate per second (FPS): 60
And the 218+ and 718+ both say 30FPS max

Is this still the case? It says that hardware transcoding is supported on the NAS support page?
(talking about the DS218 which has the Realtek RTD1296 Quad-core 1.4 GHZ)
