Upgrading the library won't work

Logging in with the Plex Desktop application, I don’t see the upgrade option - probably a web bug.

I have contacted WD support and they have advised that the issue is from Plex side to update the version inside WD My Cloud Home.

There are possibly two unrelated issues here.

Firstly the upgrade option is only available on media servers running version 1.20.0 or higher, trying to uprade a library on versions older than this just won’t work. This option shouldn’t be showing for you and I’ll report this to the web team.

If you are on a supported version please try and upgrade the library then get your server logs.

Here is my server logs; hope it can help.Plex Media Server Logs_2021-09-03_19-17-20.zip (9.1 MB)

Your server version is 1.18.6. Please see my above comment.

I am on server 1.24.1.4931.
Here are my server logs

Same problem for me updating the “series” library, “movies” updated with no problems.

Version 1.24.2.4973

Logs: Plex Media Server Logs_2021-09-04_10-42-56.zip (4.8 MB)

Found this:

Sep 04, 2021 10:38:00.223 [0x7f6f10c4fb38] ERROR - Errors in PUT request: <html><head><title>Bad Request</title></head><body><h1>400 Bad Request</h1></body></html>'language' is invalid

My library language was set to “Norwegian” for my “series” library, changed it to “English”, and it updated with no problem!

EDIT: After the upgrade i noticed the language choice for “Norwegian” changed from “Norwegian” to “Norwegian Bokmål” in my library settings.
Maybe thats the issue?

Same with me. Seems that older and outdated locales stops the upgrade process. Library set to “english” before upgrade resolves the problem.

Yes same for me, changing the library to English fixed it.

Same problem here with my WD Cloud Home v1.18.6.2350.

I already try to set the library language to English like you suggested, but the problem persists.

Can you help me ?

Plex Server is running on a Shield TV. The library’s language is set to English. I still can’t upgrade the library.

You need to upgrade Plex to above version 1.20.0 first.

I have Plex Version 1.21.2.3943 installed. Although I dont believe it as it is a Drobo. and installing updates manually never seems to report an updated agent? which is a seperate issue. aka I could download and install new update all day and it would still say “please update” and I get library Update error. please help as I would like new agent.

I have the issue that I don’t see the upgrade button anymore. I got the message, selected "I’ll do it later’, saw the upgrade option but now it disappeared from both web and desktop apps.
I’m running PMS on Windows 10.
I also noticed that when edit the library “Plex Movie” is selected (not the legacy) even though I did not change a thing. Furthermore, in the agents tab, I don’t see the “Plex Movie” tab anywhere, only the legacy one.

This seems to be really messed up for me at the moment…

as far as i know MyCloud Home users have to wait until WD decides to relase the 1.20.0 version. So for now we’re stuck with version 1.18.6.2350 .

edit.
as soon as the MyCloud Home is updated to 1.20.0 (when ever that should be) it should be possible to upgrade the media library.

Thank you, this is indeed the issue.

I’ve submitted a fix for the next version of PMS to make sure we catch the issue with the Norwegian language code.

Until then the work-around you suggest is the easist solution.
