URLService for tou.tv plugin broken

Hi ! 

 

I had to learn python so to practice, I've been upgrading the TOU.TV (forked from GitHub) plugin with new JSON API from the Boxee plugin instead of scraping the website. 

 

Here's the reference i had for this.

Now i'm a bit stuck. The URLService for tou.tv is not working :(. Even with the original plugin from the channel store. 

 

PMS: OSX V. 0.9.8.5.165 (i'm stuck at that version bc of the loss of 32bits support)

PHT: Latest version

Plex/IOS : Latest version

What logs do you need ? 

 

Is this caused by my PMS version ? If yes, do you know if there's one who is fully functional ?

Nevermind, I found it. 

Seem like metadata is not being pulled anymore from SMIL url content. 

I was able to make it work with dummy metadata hardcoded. 

I'll recode that part to get metadata from tou.tv json api instead of SMIL.

Made a pull request with new code for URLService and plugin. Everything is tested and works :)

Hi Kay, i did update the service.bundle from the GIT hub including your modification but still the plugin is unable to play any video, same has before. Is there a step i have missed ? Running media server 0.9.8 and player 1.0 under windows 8.1.

hmmm, did you update only the service bundle ? or the plugin also ?

Could you send me the PMS log file also ? services.bundle logging is in part there also.

I did update the service.bundle. As for the plugin, i did copied the tou.tv.bundle taken form your GIT over the plug-ins directory but it was not there prior.I also made sure to disable " Disable capability checking" . Here's the pms log file. Thanks a lot for the help Kay ! BTW is there a way to send you beer money for the help ?

Can you tell me where I can download the plugin  I would like to test it on my side.   Do you believe it will work on Roku

Never mind    found it and tested it   and it is working for me.

Hi Moressel, what did you exactly do ? I tried myself without success ?

My bad... i wasnt coping the folder under Users\%username\Appdata\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins . Only to ProgramFile. Everything is working now !!! Thanks Kay

yay ! Now, it's possible that the PMS updates the plugins automatically with versions on the app store. So keep a copy and copy it back if the plugin is not working again.

Indeed you are correct the Services and toutv bundles get overwritten at random.  to fix it temporarly i put both directory read-only

on another note i found a problem with new content posted on tou.tv.   i tried to watch Bye Bye 2013 this morning from plex but I am getting  an error message about m3u8 file not found. 

I have XBMC installed on my computer as well and the link worked.

any idea what could be wrong ?

Using PLEX mac version. I update using the server engine, but it tells no update available. The GitHub plex plugin page for Tou.Tv has not been update for severals months as well. Where do you get the latest version? How do you install it on the Mac? within the PMS app bundle (package content), could not find it...

I have found the plugin at this location:

~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/TOU.TV.bundle

Any idea where to find a working tou.tv plugin ?

Hey guys, I run PMS Version 1.10.1.4602 on my Syno DS412+ DSM 6.1.5-15254.
I can see the tou.tv pluggin, but when i clic on it, i get “This plugin is not responding”

Sometimes, i get to the second step as seen in the pic, but when i clic on either, same result.

I am not a coder. Anyone know what can I do to get this working? I tired other Canadian channels and work fine.
