Hi there Plex team,
I'm hoping that you can modify the code that looks for background.ext or backdrop.ext files (as detailed on your support doc here) to allow for those of us who want to have different background/backdrop images for each season of a TV show. I confirmed that it doesn't work right now - I have my media organized as
Show
Season 1
Mediafile.mkv
Backdrop.png
Season 2
Mediafile.mkv
Backdrop.png
And when I go to the pencil "edit" button for Season 1, the locally-stored media file does not come up as an option for Background. It is empty by default for a TV show season.
I know that I can set each background manually by using the load from URL or load from file on my (local, not server) computer. The problem is that while Plex has no problem using online sources to hunt for Poster images for each season, it doesn't do that for backgrounds. Which means if there's a glitch and all my backgrounds get reset (which happens frequently when I use the Update button) to the default, I lose my carefully-curated set of season-specific background images.
I'd rather negate this issue by just storing a background.png image in each season folder, and then having Plex automatically recognize that, and use it instead of the default Series/Show based background image if it sees I have one there.
What do you think?
