Use personal metadata for music file

There are a couple ways.

  • Recommended - You can configure Plex to prefer local metadata. In this configuration, Plex will use embedded tags if available, and look to MusicBrainz.com, AllMusic.com, etc., for anything that’s missing.
    – Plex only supports a few of the tags that may be present. See details in this How-To article.

  • The more extreme method - You can use the “Personal Media Artists/Albums agent” for your library. This will ignore the online databases completely, and only use what it finds embedded in your files. This isn’t intended for commercial music albums, as explained in this Help page, and you’ll lose access to some features that are made possible by the Plex Music agent.
