Using plex to play a downloaded course. Help

Hi!
I’m trying to learn Python and bought an online course that I’ve downloaded onto my computer.
I am having trouble finding a way to use Plex to view the videos in the sense that my options are not ideal:

  1. Create a personal media library which allows me to view the media in it’s folders, sorted by it’s name with the titles being the titles of the media files = almost perfect for 1 issue:
ISSUE: I can’t just play them one after the other. I constantly have to select the next video and press play. I would much rather have it so that I open a folder, play the video where I left off and plex automatically playing the next video inside the folder I am watching my videos from.

  2. Create a TV-show library which allows me to view the media as a “TV Show” which is almost perfect for 1 issue:
ISSUE: I can not see the titles of the videos, even though I can see where I left off, I can no longer go back to rehears what I’ve seen, by looking at the title of the episode.

  3. Create a playlist that allows me to add all the videos from a folder. This is almost perfect because now I can see the titles, play them one after the other (automatically) but it’s almost perfect because:
ISSUE: I can’t see where I left off. On the desktop I can open the video and see if the thumbnail has a played/unplayed marking, but on the iPad i cannot.

So what I’m looking for is a way to combine the best from all worlds and have a viewing experience like this:

  1. I add my personal media
  2. I can play it chronologically; automatically
  3. I can see the titles
  4. I can see where I left off (Watched/Unwatched)

Does anyone know if this is possible somehow? I think my best option would be to use the “TV Show” library option and find a way to have Plex display the titles of each video, but I haven’t found a way to do that yet.

Help me, Plex Community,
you’re my only hope.

Beep beep boop!

That’s correct, but it means legwork for you… Since the “series” is likely not on tvdb, your only real option is to edit each episode and fill in the episode title/name and the sort title/name. You can use the sort title as like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. And name the Episodes whatever they are “Python for Beginners Lesson 1” “Advanced Python Lesson 12” etc etc… That Title is the display title, and won’t sort, but the sort title will allow you to organize them…

Thanks for the reply!

No problem, I have a few DAZ and Blender tutorials I had to do the same way…
