I am using Astrill VPN and have problems with accessing plex via remote access from outside network. I have tried with port forwarding as the plex faq says, but it still doesnt work. As soon as i turn off the VPN, the remote access works fine again. Note that i dont have any problem to access the plex remote access via the local network, its only not accessible via other networks outside the local network.
The Astrill VPN app have a option to “exclude” .exe files from the VPN tunnel, but when i choose the plex.exe and plex media server (basically every .exe file in the plex dir) im still not able to access the remote access (its odd cause this option works with EVERY OTHER .exe that i tested with, its just plex that it doesnt work).
Does anyone know what the problem is and how i can fix this? Its really important for me to have the VPN on all the time.
Im on Windows 7, and not using any kind of antivirus app / firewall
