I am about to purchase my 3rd Nvidia Shield but one of my major issues is not being able to stream multichannel audio-only formats on Plex/Android. I have seen some posts about using Kodi w/Plex connection add-on, and wonder if there are any that have implemented this and can comment on it, strictly from the Music Library standpoint.
My idea is to use Kodi as my music player since it also handles all my surround music formats; which are primarilly 24/48 and 24/96 5.1 FLAC files. Hoping there are Plex users out there that can advise.
Happy to entertain other approaches but the requirements are a Plex Windows server and PB via Nvidia Shield to three 5.1 surround rooms in my home. Right now, one of those rooms is my studio - which also runs Plex on Windows …and currently, this is the only location that I can play these formats.
