Ustream and a few channels don't work; rest is functional

I'm completely new to Plex. Found it today, loaded it up, got my Apple TV 3 synched with it, and it seems to be a wonderful addition to the ATV's functionality.

My movie libraries work fine with it. Some of the TV channels work; some don't. From what I could tell scouring the various posts here, that's to be expected. For example, the Canadian TV stations and BBC, I can scroll through the menus and shows, but when I try playing any of them, I get an error like "Trailers is unavailable." The South Park channel and the Colbert channel works fine.

However, everyone seems to be saying that Ustream works fine for them. When I try playing it I get the following message: "No response from the Flex media server." If I try TVTropolis (as well as a bunch of others), I get "Trailers not available. Try again later." (Or something very similar.) The Ustream response is the odd one out.

The log shows this:

The server is running off a MacPro. The ATV3 is software v6.0.2. I found some info online saying that an August update killed PlexConnect when Trailers became an https request instead of an http request, and there was a hack around that, but I didn't need to do anything like that to get it up and running. I just downloaded it, created the certificates, started up the server, modified the DNS on the ATV and pointed it to the trailers.cer file, and I was good to go, except for a bunch of TV channels that I was having problems with.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

I've also just noticed that a lot of that content I can't access from my desktop, either. I can get a little farther in Ustream than I can on my Apple TV, but all I can do is search Ustream (there are no graphics on the channel's menu or any other options) and then when I select one of the matches, I end up with a "Cannot load M3U8: crossdomain access denied" error.

>>created the certificates,

That actually was the end-of-August hack to get it back to live.

Channels in Plex are a little flaky whatever the client, they are working to clean this up but there will always be an element of this as most channels are not created together with content providers and there fore break when content providers website change.

The best thing to do is test on the iOS app to see if it function there and if so then we can look to see if it is a PlexConnect specific issue; we are aware of one, where we do not support the Plex Media Server API for dialogue boxes.

If it affects other platforms, especially iOS or Android then you need to raise the issue in the channels sub forum.

According to your ip address you're in the US. Almost all Canadian and BBC content is available only in Canada and the UK respectively.

Thanks. I should have figured on the region restrictions for some content.

So let's go back to uStream. What does "Cannot load M3U8: crossdomain access denied" mean? I get this error when I try to access uStream from my Plex dashboard from my desktop computer. I assume it would have to at least work in my browser window before I could expect it to work on my ATV.

I'll check later by downloading Plex for my iPhone.

Does anyone else not have uStream working on their ATV3? I ask because in the past threads, I've seen it listed as one of the channels that worked fine, but maybe something has changed in the meanwhile.

ETA: OK, I purchased the iPhone Plex app, and I get "An unknown error occurred (-12642)" when I first tried to access a uStream feed. The second time, I just got a black screen and nothing else. At least I can get to a search box and type in terms for the content I want to look for, and I could see the results, choose one, and hit play before I get nothing. From the iPhone, it basically looks the same as from my desktop.
