It would be GREAT if there would be a client-side playback option (IOS, ROKU etc..) to playback media server content at faster than 1x speed.
Why? You might ask.
Well I timeshift a lot of television/documentaries via PLEX and nowadays so many channels think their viewers have the attention span of a dead fly. So they talk s-l-o-w-l-y, repeat things every few minutes (coming up... you've just seen....) and stating the damn obvious.
With VLC I can playback stuff easily at between 1.3-1.5x speed and whilst the voice does go faster (with pitch protection?) I can still "watch" the documentary, or should I say have it more in the background and still not feel cheated.
