So I have a small library of music that contains a number of compilations. These are tagged correctly and show within the various artist container.
However, within various artists it has the compilations marked with some as album and some as compilation as the screenshot below.
I’ve double checked the tags and meta but cannot see why Plex is doing this after a meta refresh.
Any ideas how to have all marked as compilation?

Plex gets the album type from MusicBrainz, and that release group is correctly marked as Album + Compilation at MB.
I think either your album isn’t getting matched, or it’s getting matched to the wrong release.
Do you have a MusicBrainz account?
Oh right, aye I’ve got one. Use MBpicard for tagging before adding.
Weirdly if I unmatch the various artists it sorts the album’s but if I refresh VA meta it does as the screenshot.
It looks like there are 4 releases in that Release Group. If you can determine which release is the same as yours, try getting the MBID for the release (not the Release Group) and paste that into the ‘Album’ field when you Fix Match on the album. See if that changes anything. Let me know if that’s not clear.
Edit: The above refers to the “Best Christmas Album…” album.
