VC-1 and EAC3

I’ve bought the MPEG2 and VC-1 licenses and installed them and they work fine except when I’m trying to play a HD DVD rip which has VC-1 and EAC3. Then I only get 10fps. Any ideas?

If I switch to a different audio track (e.g. directors commentary) it’s fine, so I don’t think it’s the video codec at fault.

This is with Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) capable receiver checked. If I uncheck it so that Rasplex is doing the decoding, it works fine.

The receiver is a Denon AVR-X4200W which does support EAC3 so I’d expect it to be working okay.

I wish I could edit my previous posts to add more information as I find it…

This is what my AVR reports when running tvservice -a:
PCM supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max samplesize 24 bits.
AC3 supported: Max channels: 6, Max samplerate: 48kHz, Max rate 640 kb/s.
DTS supported: Max channels: 6, Max samplerate: 96kHz, Max rate 1536 kb/s.
EAC3 supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 48kHz, Max rate 8 kb/s.
DTS_HD supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 8 kb/s.
MLP supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 8 kb/s.

When trying to play a VC-1 with EAC3 the AVR reports Dolby Atmos, which means that it thinks it’s being sent an Atmos stream rather than a Dolby Digital Plus one.
