Another plus one. I just bought the 415 play and it looks like my lifetime sub of plex is now pointless and I’ll be using video station. Which doesn’t require fooling apple tv with plexconnect and uses hardware transcoding… It’s eithr that or use a nuc and stke fikes only on plex,…
I naive, y thought plex supported the nas transcoding via hardware… I should have checked prior to my order…

Though it does keep the thread more visible for others to see.

Also, worth noting this:
https://twitter.com/plexapp/status/497407078320054272
I asked the plexapp twitter account how to sort by "Like" (votes):
Eduo: "@plexapp Is there a way to sort by "most liked first post" in the forums? To see what features are requested the more."
And this was the response:
Plexapp: "@eduo Not currently. Sorting by "most replies" has a pretty high correlation, though."
I hate the +1's, but they *do* bump the threads and since there's no other way to make them more visible by counting "likes" we get the intended result.

except that isnt true ;)
This is approximately the ninth highest request (that isnt already implemented).

I'm quoting a response from an official account. I'm not giving my own opinion here. I'm surprised I didn't get this response, instead, actually.
Not sure what the deal is with this list, but it includes stuff that's long been into Plex. Those threads should be closed and removed.
Received my DS415play this morning and would *love* to use it with Plex !

Shame on me for not researching more before buying. I got caught up in the specs rather than making sure Plex would support it fully.

+1, support would be a crucial game changer....

That's exactly what I thought. What a bummer!

But it is now more likely to happen. As Synology Video Station uses FFmpeg too.

Plex has ALWAYS used ffmpeg as the base for their transcoder, nothing has changed.
Synology use an older version of ffmpeg, so nothing is likely to happen until they port their changes to something a newer version.
