Video Playback overlay still buggy, sometimes disappears and reappears

Continuing the discussion from Plex for Mac, Windows, and Linux:

Hey guys, hey Moussa.

I’m running latest PMS on Ubuntu and have installed latest PMP for Linux on it. It’s working quite good and better than the previous version.

However, there’re still some bugs when playing video files. Sometimes the playback UI when playing a video partially disappears, then reappears quickly, like it’s flickering.

This especially happens when hovering the mouse over the video and when you don’t move the mouse until the video OSD disappears. The second you move the mouse again and the video overlay comes back the flickering becomes worse.

Other than that the app is working very well. Maybe the speed of loading VPT on PMP for Linux could be improved, too. They seem to be much slower than on the web app, for example.

Good job though on this, glad there’s finally a client for Linux, too!

Just as an update: I just received the latest Ubuntu 22.04 Nvidia drivers (515), which seem to have solved the flickering issues :partying_face:

However, I still think the VPTs could need a little speed improvement, as seeking through a video with them is much slower than on the hosted web app.

Other than that I’m very satisfied with the app now :slight_smile:
