Video Playback Speed Option Request Update 2020

Hello Plex Support,

I usually watch TV shows and some movies at a faster Playback Speed than the normal 1.00. I started with podcasts and then with streaming video providers through a web browser. This helps me get through slow seasons or slow movies without missing any important info to the story.

I requested this feature to other sites and Netflix and Youtube have added it to their mobile devices which helps tremendously. I currently use Plex DNLA with VLC on my mobile devices as a workaround and I would love to use this feature natively on the Plex app with Mobile Apps, and TV Apps.

What can I do to get this feature rolling with your team? I have a lifetime membership, I love plex, I have been using it for a long time, but it sucks that I have to use a third-party app to watch shows the way I like to watch them.

It’s one of the most requested features in feature suggestions, having first been asked for in 2014, but Plex have never responded to the request at all and just ignored it.

I’m looking at switching to Emby for this now, as Plex seem to have absolutely no interest or intention of doing this.

Thanks for the reference…too bad Plex is not listening to us paid subcribers.
