Video player crashes computer, doesn't skip etc. I have to use VLC

New to Plex, still scoping it out. The local media library abilities are astonishing and I am massively in love with them. However they player is not really usable. I just use it on a single Win 10 PC with tons of horsepower. Its crashed my PC 10 times in 2 weeks, jacks the CPU to the max, and wont FFW/RWND/Skip around without hanging. Am i doing something wrong? Is there a way to let VLC do the actual playing work? VLC is the only thing that plays everything, all of the time, no questions asked. Or should I just expect such issues?

Player Version#: Huh?

Download and install “Plex Player for Windows” from here Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More

If you try to play HEVC-encoded videos in a web browser, the server has to transcode them. Which requires shedloads of CPU power.
If your CPU cooler is not powerful enough or has been clogged by dust and fluff, the machine may overheat.

This looks like it is the answer - tried several movies so far and working perfectly. Didn’t even realize there was a desktop version. Very cool!
Thanks for the assistance
