makemkv will make a mkv out of the movie. (to be clear you won’t be able to use DVD menus and such)

is there another program besides this makemkv?

It is not working with some .iso files that I have here.

No there is not. Plex apps on TVs, etc, expect to connect to and stream from a Plex server.

I am having a similar issue, I think. I now get jittering like 10 stops and starts a second. (not just the big stutters and pixilation from other posts) all the time.

  • Synology 415+ PMS v. 18.1.1973
  • only on Plex DVR files on Player 4.5.1 on Samsung un65nu8000
  • Plex Live TV and my own files are fine.
  • airplay to TV from iPhone Plex of DVR material is fine.

Anyone have this and a fix?jitters and stutters.mov.zip (14.2 MB)

Network and hardware seem fine:

  • I get no buffering warnings
  • CPU is low
  • All gigabit ethernet - Test from computer to NAS on same network is - 38.6 up/819.0 down
  • same jittering when TV is on wifi

It was all fine until a few months ago. I made no updates or changes to hardware or settings except for PMS updates and TV updates itself. Suggestions? (PMS log and video xml below)

If I install a faster router and network card on my computer:

Is it possible that: loading will not appear when watching videos on tv samsung plex?
If so, what are the router and network card speeds that make plex work best?

Still jittering/stuttering on Samsung un65nu8000

  • DVR recordings only. (HDHomerun Extend)
  • Samsung plex player 4.5.1 the only device that stutters/jittering these recordings.

I tried lower resolution and different HDHomeRun transcoding. It did not help.

After some testing I can get rid of the jittering by making it show the subtitles. Then it is smooth.

What the $&@# bleep?
