Currently I use Xbox 360s as extenders and use the video player to watch shows normally but the Media Center to watch special playlists. I wrote a script that will take selected TV show series (user-definable), gather random numbers from each (user-definable), and make a new shuffled WVX playlist every day. It works great.
I've decided to try a Roku 2 and see if there's a way to get something to work like this. Plex has no playlist support so I hoped that making a Collection would do this. Sadly, even TV collections can only be played sequentually - there's no "shuffle all" available for it at the root level. I'd even considered making a script that would make a folder of symbolic links with the files named in random sequence that I could set up as a collection, but Plex doesn't recognize links (please consider fixing this).
I'd like to request this feature - a "shuffle all" function for collections or, really, any folder level. And please put this in the Roku 2.
