Video Thumbnails: Make it hurt!

So, let me start this off with I’ll understand if not, but I have to ask.

So most people complain that video preview thumbnails max out the CPU. I’m that weird case where it’s taking forever but only using 6-7% of my CPU. Any way to kick this into gear?

I/O, network etc are not saturated.

If not, cool but if there is some magic config file I can tweak, I’m all ears.
