Received an email stating that videos could now be uploaded to server. Doesn’t seem to happen. Anyone have an idea as to what the deal is?
Samer here, updated the mediaserver and the app also seems up2date, but no go yet, Where can i enable that feature ?
Which client app are you using? This feature requires support on the client and currently it’s only rolled out on Android. Other apps will have this option introduced in coming releases.
I am using the Android Plex App and have Plex Pass. However, I do not see how to upload photos or videos from my phone with this app. Do you know what setting I might be missing?

First make sure you are on the latest release of the Android app (at least 4.31.0) and PMS (at least version 1.1.0).
Also check that the Android app sees your local content, navigate to the server picker on the app and select your device then check the library list which should have an entry called “Local Videos” which contains the videos from your device.
If all this is correct then just by enabling Camera Upload in the settings of the Android app will automatically upload the videos from your device along with the photos to the library you select in the Camera Upload settings.
I have the latest Android app and the latest version of PMS. I am trying to follow your instructions step by step. You said to navigate to the server picker on the app. I cannot find the server picker. Where is it?
The top bar on the left, you will see the name of your server with a pull down arrow; it will open “locations”, choose your Android name.
Thank you very much. Is there a way to upload videos to a separate folder rather than uploading them to the “/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Media Upload/Mobile Photos” folder?

No, all the content from your camera roll will be put in the same folder.
Just to add, I am up to date on my server and app(android). Photos upload just fine. Videos do not. The upload process completely ignores every video on my device.

Did you get videos from your device to upload?
Like @drzoidberg33 had said, photos and videos both will go in the same folder, but you can choose a different location for this folder.

Thank you again. Works very well

Checked to make sure, and yes the app sees my device’s(android) videos. It will sync photos to my server(windows), but not videos.

Yes, my videos uploaded without any problem. The default options for Camera Upload show that the content will upload when the phone is connected to a wireless network and when the phone is charging. As soon as I laid my phone on my Samsung wireless charger, the photos and videos uploaded.

Your server is on linux? I’m on windows. Maybe that’s where the bug is?
I fooled around with the options menu in every configuration I could before posting here. No dice.
Just photos. Not uploading videos.

Figures. Everything seems to always work better with linux.
I hate that I’m married to Windows sometimes.
I’m on Windows and it works for me. Please provide your app log so I can see if there is a error.
Here’s the log
