Just a quick post from a 8 years+ user
I’ve moved my plex server another time and this give me just on request
PLEASE add the possibility to import/export/sync views!
It’s basic feature from a Media Manager point of view.
…and easy to code!

You can already migrate the existing server including all your data (including view states, ratings, manual edits…) or only transfer the view state/ratings information.
Thanks for the reply! I saw those article only playing in an sql database seems … a bit overcomplicated.
I mean, how comes users views and ratings aren’t sync on an account based. That way my view would be synced over all plex server without having nothing to do.
It’s a feature request. It would be awesome if we don’t have to dig into hidden folder or an obscure sql file to get that feature.
Personally, I don’t see “watch history” as a privacy issue as it doesn’t imply anything other than you saw a movie.
But I see your point.
So let’s find a solution guys!
I’m I the only one who would use that feature? I allready use Trakt.tv so here goes the privacy issue for me. There is already a webhook possible with trakt, why not use in house 2way sync for that? (I know it’s possible with third party command line software but the purpose here is to have something working out of the box)
Is it not possible for plex to encrypt the views on their side?
I mean it should be somewhat less complicated than “Plex Arcade” to manufacture and it would help their core user.
…seems so obvious in my head lol
There’s a number of actual suggestion threads asking for such options:
