I am wondering is there anyway to wake up HDDs upon browsing the library? That way when the file is played, there’s no need to wait for HDDs to wake up? HDD sleep mode is good for saving power so I don’t want to disable it. I think it’s a good compromise between power saving and responsiveness when HDDs are woken up while the player is actively browsing.
Just browsing your library won’t wake up the drives. That’s actually intentional, so if you are just browsing, there is no need to bother the drives. If you want to wake them up before playing, just visit any preplay. That will trigger PMS to check if the file exists which will wake up the drive.
