Server: Western Digital NAS MyCloud PR2100
Firmware Version# : 2.31.149
Plex Media Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: N/A
I have successfully completed a “bucket list”, standing up my personal media server (housing over 600+ DVD movies and 20+ TV Series over the past 25+ years, on a Western Digital (WD) NAS MyCloud model PR2100.
My family and friends would like to review the list of Movies & TV Series that I have collected, for various reasons.
However, I do not know if that functionality exists. If it does, then I do not know how to invoke the process to create this list.
I’ve read some Plex Media Server forum posts that describe the function and a “how to do it” method. However, for someone like myself not Linux-savvy or Unix-savvy, these processes seem way too complicated for me to attempt.
What I am looking for is some method that will produce a digital list of movie titles and TV Series titles, that is easily readable via a spreadsheet, pdf or a large text file, all of which can then be routed to a printer, a flash drive, or other forms of digital media storage that can be shared.
My issue is, I personally am not, nor have been, a Linux sys admin or a UNIX platform sys admin or a “Linux literate” or “UNIX literate” techie. I am better suited for a detailed “How To…” cookbook-style set of direction process, or perhaps an “add on” or “plugin” that would provide this functionality.
I chose the Linux OS platform over the Windows platform to host my media server, based upon platform stability of hardware and software, product compatibility, hardware redundancy, ease of actual software OS installation, company reputation of producing quality products, product performance, and other technical benefits too numerous to mention.
Any help and assistance would be a blessing to receive, and Thank you in advance for your constructive comments and support.
