WARNING: to all UK DVR users, DO NOT UPDATE TO 1.7.0 / 1.7.1

this build forces recording to a MKV container, with No Way to change to TS, and as we know UK recordings do not work in MKV containers.

so you have been warned!!!.

Error My Mistake

My Mistake again

yes it is true, if you do not believe me, try it yourself. the recording has serious frame stutter, and no audio when played in an external player (VLC).

i have not tried any SD recording i am not interested in those.

plex already has some of my logs, but please feel free to post yours if you wish.

@andyblac1974

Man - o - Man.

I just posted this in General Plubic. Keeping this hidden in Plex Pass is a sin… LOL

Could you post more details here…

BTW do you have Transcode OFF??

yes, all options off, as again transcoding breaks UK.

Please post info and details to that public link I sent…

Over there folks are already answering…

LOL

tbh, i see this as a PlexPass issue, they might not release to public.

Nope
Plex DVR as I understand it is in General Release.
But even if not…
People wanting to buy Plex Pass for DVR (As Plex Advertises) go clueless.

If you do not want to post this for all… I guess I will just have to assume this whole thing is bogus and I just over reacted and you are not sure there is really an issue…

I will need to delete my public post.

atm it only released to PP Plex Media Server 1.7.0 is now available to PlexPass users.

OK
I got it.

You are just a flake…

LOL

I just modified my public post and apologized.

I hope you do too… Since you certainly are unsure of your ascertains.

sorry what???, the info i posted is correct. go back in your box mate.

No problem…
I made myself look like a fool being outraged over the issue you reported.
Trying to help and get some attention for the community, you pulled the rug out.

I learned a lesson.
I can keep it at that. I learn all the time…

Your credibility is a little lacking in my eyes since you only want to mention it in the hidden forums.

But that’s my problem.

I just tried it too, we only have off and transcode as options for Convert Video While Recording, Remux has been removed and off seems to be the same as Remux used to be.

I did a test with the first show that was going to end in 5 minutes and it generated an mkv with no audio (Ive attached the XML of the file)

I’m in the UK and using an HD Home Run and just upgraded my Ubuntu 16.04 server to 1.70 this morning. I couldnt see anything useful in the logs.

did you notice the serious frame stutter

I didn’t even bother playing it as it had no audio. The original file was HD, but tried an SD show and that worked fine (not sure there was ever a problem with MPEG2 and MP2 SD recordings). I’ll try another HD show and report back.

HD recordings the audio is totally screwed. It played white noise and appears for all intents and purposes empty. Its listed as Microsoft Audio Compression Manager which is ancient and clearly wrong.

ok guy’s, been working with Plex directly about this issue, i have given samples and logs, etc, they are now a where of the issue, and it is being investigated, i will report back as soon as i know more.

Plex has posted a new 1.7.1 update.

Does 1.7.1 definitely fix the problem?
