Today I received this email from Plex
if you did not request an email change, and it is not some kind of phishing email (I would not click any links in any email), it could be some hack attempt.
I would contact plexpass billing asap

Yes I changed the password asap before posting it here.
I signed in again he changed my display picture and changed the username and deleted the users which I added thank God my libraries and watch history is still there and I don’t have any personal pictures videos etc on plex so no personal data stolen.
Plex should have 2 factor authentication.
This ^^^^^
Fortunately its never happened to me, but it’s pretty clear from other posts that there is a sharp upturn in accounts being hacked.
As an IT expert this is shocking to me I’m my whole life I never got hacked. I’m into computers since 90s and I know all the security stuff phishing techniques etc. This is very strange.
even 2 factor auth can be circumvented if someone else has your phone (or equivalent)
Do you have remote users? Are they using your account or do they have their own plex accounts? If they are using your account I expect one of the remote users has been hacked with a key logger.
I only added my sister and she never used plex since I added her, also she don’t use pc only cell phone and Plex is not installed on her cell phone.
